Evolution
HolidayIQ was launched in early 2004 under the name of India Resorts Survey. India Resorts Survey was focused on creating India’s first travel community and getting the community to contribute feedback on holiday accommodation across India. The success of this effort prompted them to widen the scope of the community. Sustained feedback from members suggested the real need to have a traveler community-led holiday information site for Indian travelers. And so was born HolidayIQ.
Members
HIQ members are travelers (or people interested in travel). On filling up a registration form FREE, membership is granted. Members are eligible to contribute feedback and photos. In addition, they are also eligible to receive regular email alerts on deals & holiday options, and download India’s first series of FREE “Smart Guides” on holidays.

Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer(PHP)
The Software Engineer will be expected to develop and maintain websites and their components with latest web/internet technologies, primarily using PHP. Will be required to perform analysis, design, coding, documentation and quality assurance activities.
The person should have :
• Deep interest in holiday travel
• A strong orientation on implementation (a doer who can think, not a thinker who can do)
• Energy and enthusiasm to shape an emerging product
Job Description:
Web application programming
Development of dynamic and interactive website using PHP, HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JS, AJAX, Smarty, MySQL, Apache and other web/internet technologies
Requirement gathering, Technical Analysis, Design, Development, Test case preparation, Testing and Implementation of web applications
Integration with third party API’s
Fine tuning and optimization of PHP code
Designing and maintaining My SQL Databases and tables
Website Maintenance
Checking and correcting problems in existing systems or processes
Quality Assurance
Adherence to programming standards
Code reuse through object-oriented design and a template-driven approach
Documentation
Desired profile:
Expertise and 4 – 6 years of hands on programming experience in Web Development, using PHP, MySQL, Apache
Experience in HTML, DHTML, XML/XSL, CSS, Java script, Ajax, SQL programming
Excellent analysis and programming skills
Sound knowledge of website development life cycle, from requirement analysis to go live
Sound knowledge of programming methods, procedures, standards
Knowledge of dynamic website development
Good object oriented and database programming skills
Knowledge of the latest web development trends and technologies
Strong verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills
Goal oriented, self motivated and a good team player, with a strong desire to learn
Detail oriented, flexible, ability to work under pressure
Required skills:
PHP, MySQL, HTML, DHTML, XML, CSS, Apache, Smarty, JavaScript, Ajax, Photoshop, Perl, OOPS, HTTP
Nice to Have
Knowledge and experience of SEO techniques
Exposure to other relational databases
