Project 1: G.SHDSL Modem
The modem uses SHDSL technology, complying with the ITU and ETSI standards, to extend the range of digital interfaces. The modem offers extended distances and variable data rates. It supports 2.3 Mbps over 2-wires and operates at multiple data rates between 64 kbps and 4608 kbps. Includes management via RS-232 terminal port/ telnet.
Role: To develop the software part of the project. Programming the Dallas DS80C400 Microcontroller chip and interfacing with the E1 Transceiver chip with the help of API commands.
Project 2: PoE 30W Power supply:
The Power over Ethernet (PoE) couples power along with data signals over standard 10/100 Cat5 cables. This technology is useful for powering IP phones, wireless LAN Access Points, network cameras, remote network switches and embedded computers, and other appliances where it would be inconvenient or infeasible to supply power separately.
Role: Testing the designed equipment on the assembly line.
ECIT – Embedded Projects
1) Project Name - Traffic Controller.
Microcontroller - AT89C51 (Atmel)
Language - Assembly
Detail – LEDs interfaced with the microcontroller through 8255(PPI) were programmed to flash in sequence taking into account time delay and synchronization between them.
2) Project Name - Relay Tester.
Microcontroller - AT89C51 (Atmel)
Language - C.
Detail -The aim of the project was to find in a given set of relays how many relays are faulty and how many are functional. IC8255 (PPI) was used for interfacing i/p switches
and LCD display with microcontroller. Keil IDE was used for code development.
3) Project Name - Wave Generator.
Microcontroller - AT89C51 (Atmel)
Language- C.
Detail - The aim of the project was to generate a saw-tooth waveform from a digital signal. Peripherals used were IC 0808(DAC), IC 8255 (PPI) and CRO. Keil IDE was used for code development.
College Project:
Project Name - Industrial Automaton.
Microcontroller - AT89C51 (Atmel).
Language - Assembly
Detail - In this project an automated vehicle system is designed for transportation of goods in an industrial setup. The vehicle moves along a fixed path and stops and loads/unloads cargo whenever requirement arises. The system comprises of 2 microcontrollers one each on vehicle and station. The vehicle is run by a D.C motor which is switched with the help of relays. The number of pulses to be travelled by it is counted by the rotary encoder and supplied to the microcontroller. The station section is controlled by another IC (AT89C2051) and has a transmitter to send signals to the vehicle. The FM transmitter-receiver uses RF communication between station and vehicle.
